Royal Rumble 2019 event took place on the 27th at the at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona. Ten matches were contested at the event. The 30 men royal rumble main event was won by Seth Rollins, and Becky Lynch won the women’s royal rumble.
Earlier Lynch lost her SmackDown Women’s Championship match against Asuka in the opening bout. Brock Lesnar retained the Universal Championship, Daniel Bryan defeated AJ Styles to retain the WWE Championship and Ronda Rousey retained the Raw Women’s Championship against Sasha Banks.
The winners of the Royal Rumble 2019 earn matches for the world championships at Wrestlemania 35. Further episodes shall reveal which championships the rumble winners would challenge and contest at wrestlemania.
The road to wrestlemania 35 officially kicked off with the royal rumble event, the WrestleMania is WWE’s biggest pay-per-view of the calendar year.
