India and New Zealand shared points after the 18th match of the 2019 Cricket World Cup was washed out without a ball being bowled at Trent Bridge on Thursday.
The result of the games means, New Zealand retaining the top spot in the points table with 7 points from 4 matches while India moved to No.3 with 5 points from 3 matches.
Both New Zealand and India remain unbeaten in the World Cup so far.
New Zealand had earlier defeated Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan, while India had won their first two matches against South Africa and defending champions Australia.
The overcast conditions remained even before the scheduled start of the match.
The umpires had five inspections in all before deciding to call off the game.
This was the 4th match which was washed out in the 2019 World Cup. No other World Cup has had as many washouts.
Earlier, Pakistan and Sri Lanka was washed out without a ball being bowled before the South Africa vs West Indies game had to be abandoned after the Proteas lost 2 wickets. Later, Sri Lanka suffered another setback when their next match against Bangladesh was also washed out as well.
India will now take on arch rivals Pakistan on the 16th of June, while New Zealand head to play against South Africa on 19th June.
