Will SP-BSP alliance stop Modi?

Uttar Pradesh rivals Mayawati and Akhilesh Yadav today announced their alliance for the 2019 General Elections.

Uttar Pradesh has 80 Lok Sabha constituency seats, both parties split the seat share 50-50. Mayawati’s Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and Akhilesh Yadavs’ Samajwadi Party (SP) will fight 38 seats each. They will not contest 2 seats of the Congress bastion Amethi and Rae Bareli.

Mayawati says, “The state is fed up with BJP…As you all know, today SP-BSP’s national president’s press conference is something that will rob sleep from BJP, Amit Shah, PM Modi”.

The smiling duo hit hard on the ruling BJP at the centre and state.

The newly formed alliance never stopped back from hitting at the Congress as well. Mayawati said, “Scams, corruption and rampant poverty made the grand old party slide.”

(The Pigeon Express Opinion – The last election put BJP at helm after 10 years of anti-incumbency, however this time around BJP will seek votes based on their performance. The saffron party’s fame declined due to extreme communalisation and policy making. It’s obvious that the BJP  won’t cross it’s last time tally of 78. And the reunification of the SP-BSP just makes it even more tougher for the BJP. )
