Eighty-Seven-year-old Charulata Patel, who became an internet sensation in India during their last match at Edgbaston on Wednesday, was once again seen in the stands during India’s ongoing match against Sri Lanka in Leeds.
The BCCI tweeted a picture of her present at Headingley, along with a letter from the man who made it possible for the her to show her presence at every India game from here on.

India captain Virat Kohli has in a great gesture arranged the match tickets for Charu Lata and her family for all remaining India games including the semi-final and a possible final at Lord’s if the Men in Blue make it to Lord’s on 14th July.
Kohli’s letter to her read, “Dear Charulata ji, It is so inspiring to see your love and passion for our team and I hope you enjoy the games with your family. Lots of love and regards, Virat.”
On Wednesday, Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma went onto meet 87-year-old Charu Lata Patel after India defeated Bangladesh by 28 runs to reach the semi-finals of the 2019 Cricket World Cup.
