United Kingdom: Snow creates chaos

Weather conditions in Britain worsened after snow and ice caused a chaos across Britain’s rail network, roads and airports.

Trains delayed or cancelled due to the issues with tracks. London meteorological department issued an amber alert and has forecasted a fresh blanket of 5 centimeter of snow over the existing 9 centimeters. Meaning this could only turn more chaotic, and life threatening for citizens.

Overnight snowfall grounded flights, including the complete closure of the runways at Bristol and Bournemouth. Close to 100 drivers abandoned their vehicles on a highway and seeked refuge at a pub on Thursday evening.

Rail lines disrupted.

The temperature dipped to a negative (-) 15 °C making it the coldest night for the British in 7 years.

Meanwhile, schools remain shut.
