The website of Indian Railways, IRCTC suddenly stopped working from at 10 a.m. on wednesday because of which online ticket booking halted. The website remained in maintenance for over 48 minutes and then once it started working users found it very tough to book tickets online as the servers were operating slow, mostly due to the excess load.
While the website was down it displayed a maintenance message, “Due to maintenance activity E-Ticketing is not available please try later for cancellation/ file TDS.”
Users who had to book tickets online were affected, and also tatkal booking (reservations 24 hours prior) too was interrupted which starts at 10 a.m. Both the IRCTC website and the mobile application were down.
Netizens took to social media to express their disappointment, calling out Railway minister, Piyush Goyal.

Dear @IRCTCofficial this screen shot was taken at 11.10 this morning while trying to book a tatkal ticket. Downtime during Tatkal hour is a joke.
