Suspected coronavirus man wrapped in PPE left unattended at bus shelter for at least 3 hours

The dead body of a suspected coronavirus man was wrapped in PPE, and left unattended at a bus shelter in Karnataka’s Haveri district for at least 3 hours.

Outraged over the incident residents say that the hospital staff who were involved in carrying the last rites of the person, wrapped the body in PPE in front of public and left the body at the bus shelter for over three hours.

As per reports the 45-year-old man was suffering from fever for over a week, after he decided to go to Ranebennur taluk hospital for a consultation. His swab test was taken on June 28 and since his results still had to come he decided to rest at the bus shelter across the hospital. However, after a while, he died at the shelter.

After hospital staff was informed, they rushed to the shelter and wrapped his body in PPE and abandoned it, instead of taking it to the mortuary.

Authorities have launched an investigation.
