Before talking about the ‘Student of the year 2’ that hit theaters this weekend, let’s recall the part 1 edition.
The Student of the Year that released in 2012 was directed by Karan Johar, which portrayed a swanky wealthy school in Dehradun called St Teresa. The unusual school event so competitive that complicated relationship among friends and creating rivalry. The only bright part of the part 1 series was the memorable tunes, and the hype among the three newcomers Alia Bhat, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra.
Now since you’ve recalled the part 1 school drama, lets dig deep into the part 2 edition.
Student Of The Year 2 is directed by Punit Malhotra, who stars Tiger Shroff and introduces Tara Sutaria and Ananya Panday. In many ways the movie is similar to Aamir Khan 90’s movie Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar. The rivalry among students, the class difference between rich and poor is what’s talked about.
The second installment goes on to have a similar competition like SOTY 1, but this time it’s an inter-school competition but it’s no easy to win the title “Student of the year”. From quizes to athletics to swimming and dancing all these students must be well versed in all.
The sets of the movie which has to be a school is imaginative fairy land, not even the most modern nations have such sets of infrastructure. The debutants express their wide range of acting skills in the way of emotions – in digital age emoticons. Tiger who looks no student, was is good only when he does what he’s known for, his action and fight scenes.
The movie is somewhat predictable and somewhere loses the viewer’s interest when you compare it with the original franchise and falls below par.
That’s about it folks!
Below are a few trolls and reviewers who describe the movie in fewer words :-
