Sri Lankan authorities find bomb hidden in a motorbike three days after Easter bombings

Sri Lankan authorities found a bomb that was planted in downtown area of Colombo, the capital of Sri Lanka, on Wednesday, after multiple blasts shook the nation on Sunday.

Going by the eyewitness record, a security guard of a shopping mall said that a bomb was found hidden in a motorbike, and fortunately, no casualties were reported.

Local police officers have detonated the bomb and removed the motorbike.

On Easter Sunday, eight suicide bombers, attacked churches and hotels killing at least 359 people and injuring over 500. Since the blasts, the Sri Lankan police had taken over 60 suspects into custody.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena assured the nation that he would take steps to curtail terrorism and bring back normalcy swiftly, adding that he will make immediate changes in the high security positions as there was negligence in carrying out responsibilities.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the US intelligence and law enforcement agency, will be assisting Sri Lanka in the investigations. The FBI have reached ground zero, while many nations including Australia, UK, and UAE agreed to assist Sri Lanka.
