Indians are obsessed with fair skin and white complexion they resort to all kinds of fairness products. Well most of the celebrities don’t mind endorsing fairness products, however a South Indian actress, Sai Pallavi recently took a stand by rejecting a fairness cream advertisement.
While giving an interview, the actress said that fairness cream ads give wrong signals to women and lower their self-esteem. She said that one should love the “Indian color”.
The well known actress who has worked in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam cinema could have been richer by INR₹ 2 crore if she had taken the brand endorsement. However she made it clear that she isn’t after money.
There have been plenty of actresses who refused to endorse fairness advertisements, and they somewhat started a campaign called ‘Dark is Beautiful’.
The actress, Sai Pallavi has a movie NGK that would hit screens tomorrow, the 31st of May. The movie is directed by ace filmmaker K. Selvaraghavan, that stars superstar Suriya Sivakumar.
