South African President Cyril Ramaphosa and hundreds of passengers were stuck on a train for four hours that should’ve taken just 45 minutes.
President Ramaphosa after reaching his destination said, “It is unacceptable”.
He urged the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (Prasa) to improve the situation before “eyes roll”.
Train delays are quite common in South Africa, angered commuters have also set trains on fire.
Prasa released a statement to say that, the President’s train was delayed because of another train that had to stop after its driver was hit by a stone which was thrown at him by thugs.
Cyril Ramaphosa shared smiling pictures to journalists that followed him on his campaign trail.
Meanwhile an opposition politician took a jibe, “New driver, same broken old train”.

The metaphor. Ramaphosa in trains that break down daily, but he is all smiles. His face says don’t worry about the broken ANC, vote for for me, not the ANC. Trust me even though it is beyond impossible to fix the ANC, I’m just a passenger here. New driver, same broken old train. pic.twitter.com/Szn3TQ8IX6
