Samjhauta Express Stopped At Attari Border

Pakistan has decided to stop the Samjhauta Express, a cross-border train that travels bi-weekly between Delhi in India and Lahore in Pakistan.

These reports surfaced in Pakistani media, however there is no official statement from either India or Pakistan.

The suspension of Samjhauta Express by Pakistan is supposedly after India scrapped Article 370 which gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

This may also be apart of Pakistan’s strategy after it downgraded bilateral ties.

The Indian government is not yet informed by the Pakistan government about its latest move, therefore it has resulted in a number of passengers being stranded at the Attari border.
