Roshan Baig the 15th Karnataka MLA to resign

In another jolt to the  Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) coalition government in Karnataka suspended Congress MLA from Shivajinagar Roshan Baig has tendered his resignation. This brings the resignation count to 15 now.

After coming out from the speaker’s chambers in the legislative assembly Baig said, “Today I have submitted my resignation from the Karnataka Assembly to the Speaker.” He however added that, “I am not going to Mumbai or Delhi. Being the chairman of the State Haj committee, I am going to the airport to oversee arrangements for the Hajj pilgrims.”

The MLA was suspended from Congress for his alleged anti-party activities as he had rebelled against the party leaders. Baig has recently been accused by IMA group founder, Mohammad Mansoor Khan, who is absconding, of taking Rs 400 crore from him and not returning it.

Meanwhile, the rebel MLAs who tendered their are expected and fled to Mumbai were warned by Siddaramaiah. He said he would seek  disqualification of rebel MLAs who resigned. He also added that these rebels should be barred from contesting elections for six years.
