Cricketer Rohit Sharma was visibly upset as he was walking back to the pavilion after adjudged caught behind in India’s ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match against the West Indies at Old Trafford in Manchester.
Rohit Sharma looked to score a big against his innings with West Indies, as he smashed a six and a boundary in the first 6 overs after India opted to bat. But he was under trouble when he was caught by the wicketkeeper after it seemed as an edge in Kemar Roach’s bowling.
The initial decision of the umpire was given not out, but after an appeal the umpire reversed his decision.
The ultra edge caught spikes on the ball as the ball crossed the bat but it wasn’t providing conclusive evidence as to whether the ball brushed the bat or Rohit’s pad. Nonetheless, after only a couple of replays, third umpire Michael Gough ruled it out.
The dismissal upsetted fans who took to social media to express their anger.
