India’s ace shuttler PV Sindhu ended the year at a peak after defeating Japanese Nozomi Okuhara at the BWF World Tour Finals. Sindhu claimed the championship title, and this win was “special” after near misses in previous titles.
The 23-year old was criticised after failing to clinch any win in the finals this year, she proved to be capable enough to win a finals too. She said “I am the winner. No one can say I don’t win in finals, I have won the gold and this win is really special to me”.
The shuttler finished the year on a high after this win, she quoted the win as the most memorable win and was happy to end the year on a “beautiful note”.
With this win Sindhu created history after becoming the only Indian to win a finals in the BWF World Tour Finals.
Sindhu remained unbeaten in the BWF World Tour Finals, she also knocked out the World No.1 Tai Tzu Ying in her road to victory.
