PV Sindhu is the first Indian shuttler to achieve this historic feat. She is also the most successful women’s singles shuttler in World Champions for winning five medals in 6 appearances.

In 2013 and 2014 she won bronze, in 2017 and 2018 she won silver and this time 2019 GOLD!!!

And she also became the 4th and only singles player ever to have a full set of world championship medals.

Sindhu took on 3rd seed and former champion Nozomi Okuhara in a repeat of the 2017 World Championships final in Basel. Two years ago, the two shuttlers battled for 110 minutes, the longest final in the history of the tournament.

Today, Sindhu crushed Nozomi Okuhara in one-sided final and claimed her gold in under 38 minutes, 21-7, 21-7.
