A Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist Sajjad Khan, and a close aide of the Pulwama terror attack mastermind Mudassir Ahmed Khan was arrested in New Delhi on Friday.
Sajjad Khan who is 27 years old was arrested by Delhi police near Lajpat Rai market late Thursday night.
Pramod Singh Kushwah, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Special Cell) said, “Muddasir, the mastermind of Pulwama attack was killed in an exchange of fire with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir recently”.
The officer added that Mudassir asked Sajjad to establish a sleeper cell in Delhi.
Sajjad Khan alias Sajjad was living in Delhi as a shawl seller, he came to Delhi before the Pulwama terror attacks.
Sajjad Khan hails from Jammu and Kashmir, knew the details of the Pulwama attack on the CRPF convoy. His two brothers were also Jaish terrorists, and were killed in encounters. One of his brothers was killed in an encounter along with Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Masood Azhar’s nephew Usman in South Kashmir’s Tral in October 2018.
Mudassir Ahmed Khan was the mastermind of the Pulwama terror attacks, and Sajjad was in contact with Mudassir. In an encounter on March 11th this year, Mudassir was neutralised.
Mudassir Ahmed Khan arranged the vehicle and explosives used in the Pulwama terror attacks.
The Pulwama terror attacks occurred on the 14th of February, suicide bomber Adil Ahmed Dar blew himself with an explosive laden vehicle a CRPF convoy, 40 CRPF personnels were martyred.
