Priyanka Gandhi Vadra finally joined politics months ahead of the 2019 General Elections.
The trump card for Rahul Gandhi, and a lookalike of Indira Gandhi is made incharge of eastern Uttar Pradesh from February 1st and was also awarded position of general secretary in the Congress party.
A 47 year old Priyanka in the past had confined herself to the constituencies of her mother and brother since 2004, but she now has extended her campaign reach. The Congress party will use all their resting guns in the run up to the 2019 general elections, Priyanka is one among them.
The entry of Priyanka Gandhi into active politics strikes straight into the alliance of Mayawati-Akhilesh Yadav, and also the ruling BJP. Congress lawmakers say that Priyanka oversees the party along with her elder brother Rahul and is a key decision maker.
The mega announcement comes ahead of Rahul Gandhi’s two day visit at his home constituency, Amethi.
The ruling BJP has often targeted Priyanka’s husband Robert Vadra in corrupt land dealings in Haryana and Rajasthan.
The Congress press release also announced Jyotiraditya Scindia as in charge for western UP.
