President Donald Trump gave his State of the Union speech on Tuesday after the longest shutdown in the history of the United States which lasted 35 days.
President Trump on Border Security?
Trump reinstated his demand for US$ 5.7 billion for the border wall between Mexico and United States.
Trump came hard on the Democrats for stalling funding for the wall, he called it an attempt to damage U.S. prosperity.
President Trump called the illegal migration a national crisis and pleaded for the Democrats and Republicans to find a compromise by 15th Feb deadline.
The Democrats who are opposing the construction of the border wall call it a waste of money and ineffective.
President Trump on North Korea?
President Trump announced his second meeting with the North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on the 27th and 28th of Feb, the meeting venue will most likely be Vietnam.
Trump met Kim Jong in a summit held at Singapore in June last year.
Their definitely relations improved however US say that North Korea hasn’t done enough to dismantle their assets and launch sites.
President Trump on Political Unity?
Trump in his last two annual speeches has made repeated calls for a political unity.
Trump warned democrats efforts to investigate his administration by calling it an attempt to endanger the US economy.
Trump said, “An economic miracle is taking place in the United States and the only thing that can stop it are foolish wars, politics, or ridiculous partisan investigations.”
President Trump on Foreign Wars?
Trump demanded accelerated negotiations with Taliban in Afghanistan to end the US’s longest war abroad.
Trump said it was time to welcome back soldiers from Syria and Iraq after much of territory was liberated from the dreaded ISIS rule.
