A passenger plane run over a man standing on the runway. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening at Sheremetyevo International Airport, Moscow. The jet was bound for Athens and was just taking off when it ran over the man.
A gruesome footage was circulated on social media. It shows blood, clothing and shoe laces all across the runway. The flight did not stop, and continued on with its scheduled journey.
Russian airliner Aeroflot confirmed that its jet was involved in the fatal incident.
The ATC said the crew of the Athens-bound plane claimed that they had hit something on the runway “during acceleration,” but “decided not to return the aircraft to the airport, as the systems did not signal damage.”
Security officers were then sent to inspect the runway and then made this discovery. Mystery surrounds how the 25-year-old man managed to evade security and reach the runway. The victim was not a member airport personal nor was he a missing passenger.
RT Television claimed the victim was an Armenian national who had earlier been deported from Spain. He was flying from Madrid to his homeland with a transfer in Moscow.
