Parking Lot 5 On Fire At Aero India 2019, Cars Gutted

Smoke was seen at the venue of the Aero India 2019 which is currently being held at the Yelahanka airbase in Bangalore.

Police sources present at the spot said grass fire spread across the parking area five. Visuals show that over a dozen cars were burnt, luckily there were no reports of any injuries.

Fire tenders rushed to the spot to douse the fire. The fire may have started by a lit cigarette thrown on the grass. The exact count of the vehicles burnt were still unknown.




The parking spot were a few kilometres away from the air show.

There has been no disruption to the Aero India show due to the smoke. Today marks the fourth and final day of the air show.

This incident comes after the mishap of the Indian air force acrobatics team which killed one pilot, Wing Commander Sahil Gandhi during rehearsals on Tuesday.

Fire at the air show is contained. No injuries were reported, however 300 plus cars were gutted in the blaze.

DGP fire MN Reddi tweeted, “In all, 300 cars burnt in the fire incident. Fire fully extinguished now. 10 fire force and 5 other fire engines fought the fire under the leadership of Chief Fire Officer, West”.
