There is a strong speculation that OnePlus may unveil OnePlus TV on the 26th September. The OnePlus 7T Series phones are sure to arrive on this day.
The company published a video on YouTube to tease the special event. It shows a OnePlus device being suckered into a giant star. At the end of the video, OnePlus says ‘evolution is around the corner. A new era’.
The company has been teasing the TV on its social media pages, revealing the specs periodically and building up the hype as we get closer to its launch.
Last week, an Amazon sale listing confirmed that the OnePlus TV would be one of the products that would be available during the e-commerce giant’s Great Indian Festival sale.
A couple of weeks ago, CEO Pete Lau shared a photo on Twitter that showed off the back of the TV, revealing its Kevlar finish and a unique swivel stand.
The swivel mechanism is expected to hold the TV from the top, providing easy access to the ports at the bottom of the device.
Earlier, the company confirmed several key details of the device.
An Amazon landing page for the product revealed that the TV will feature a 55-inch 4K QLED display with support for Dolby Vision. This will be accompanied by eight speakers with a combined output of 50W. The speakers will be powered by Dolby Atmos sound technology.
Lau in the past also said that the OnePlus TV will run the Android TV platform and guaranteed software updates for at least three years. He also said that the TV will offer access to Google Assistant and the Play Store.
Media reports have shown in the past that the TV might come in three display sizes of 43-inch, 55-inch, 65-inch, and 75-inch.
An image of the OnePlus TV remote hinted at a slim form factor as it received Bluetooth SIG certification last month and was shown to have five buttons on the top. The remote is likely to pair with the OnePlus TV via Bluetooth.
