Not even 24 hours after JJP-BJP declare alliance, Dushyant Chautala’s father Ajay granted two week furlough from Tihar Jail

Less than a day after the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) chief Dushyant Chautala extended support to the BJP to form the government in Haryana, his father Ajay Chautala has been granted furlough from Tihar Jail for two weeks.

Ajay Chautala has been lodged in the Tihar jail here, along with his father and former Haryana chief minister Om Prakash Chautala, after his conviction in a teachers recruitment scam.

He is scheduled to leave prison either on Saturday evening or Sunday morning.

Ajay Chautala has been granted furlough to meet his family and perform rituals for his deceased mother. He was granted first of three paroles in a year when his mother died in August.

The new Haryana government will have Manohar Lal Khattar continue as chief minister and Dushyant Chautala as his deputy. Both are expected to take oath on Sunday.

Ajay Chautala was jailed following conviction in a teacher recruitment scam. Ajay’s son Dushyant started a party after a split in the Chautala family, and won 10 seats in the recently concluded state assembly elections.
