Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah filed his nomination for the Lok Sabha elections from the Gandhinagar seat. He was surrounded by union ministers such as Rajnath Singh and Arun Jaitley. Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray also joined the massive show of strength.
Amit Shah first shared stage at a public meeting in Gandhinagar with NDA allies in the morning and then held a road show through the city. Shah claims that he is “blessed” to contest who elected leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani.
Uddhav Thackeray, who leads Shiv Sena and has an on/off relationship with the BJP, said, “A lot of people are surprised that I am here. When we sat together we have solved our issues and our disagreements… Hindutva is our breath. How will we live without Hindutva?”
The presence of a huge brass of NDA leaders at Amit Shah’s nomination filing shows that he is the second most powerful leader in the alliance after Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
BJP announced Amit Shah from Gandhinagar, ending the political career journey of LK Advani. Advani held the seat for six terms was upset ever since he was replaced, he was not even present at today’s road show.
Advani is also the founding member of BJP, he won this seat for the first time in 1991 until 2014.
