An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) was triggered by the naxals targeting security forces in Jharkhand’s Saraikela area on Tuesday. The blasts injured 15 personnel.
The incident took place at 5 am in the morning on Tuesday, the 209 CoBRA force and Jharkhand Police were targeted during a special operation.
Prima facie it seems as though the explosives were buried in the dirt track.
Injured persons were air lifted and shifted to army hospital in Ranchi.
Maoists attacks are frequent in central India, a previous gruesome attack on the 1st of May killed 16 army soldiers in Gadchiroli, Maharashtra. Here as well, the army were on a secret anti-naxal operation.
