Senior Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu on Monday informed that he has officially tendered his resignation as minister to Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh.
The 55-year-old has time and again gone head-on against Punjab CM on various issues, until finally Amarinder Singh stripped him off key portfolios after a cabinet reshuffle in June.

However, Captain Amarinder Singh claimed on Monday that he is yet to see the letter. “I am in Delhi and the letter was sent to my residence, I am yet to see it.”
Earlier, Navjot Singh Sidhu sent out his resignation to Congress President Rahul Gandhi instead of Amarinder Singh dating June 10th. A month later on 14th July Mr. Sidhu revealed that he would be sending his resignation letter to the chief minister.
The relations between the Captain and the former cricketer worsened after Sidhu attended the swearing-in ceremony of Imran Khan last year and hugging Pakistan Army Chief.
Their rift widened during the general elections when Sidhu and his wife accused Amarinder of having had a hand in the denial of ticket to her to from either Chandigarh or Amritsar.
The later in June, the Congress leader was demoted in the Punjab cabinet after being stripped of portfolios of local government and Tourism and Culture Ministry.
