Narendra Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Pranab Mukherjee pay tribute to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his 55th death anniversary

Former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru’s 55th death anniversary is observed on Monday. Prominent leaders and politicians paid tribute to Nehru such as Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former president Pranab Mukherjee, former vice-president Hamid Ansari to Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

Congress president Rahul Gandhi tweeted to remember his great grandfather, he wrote “Many democratic nations as young as India, soon degenerated into dictatorships. On his death anniversary, let us remember Jawaharlal Nehru Ji’s contribution in building strong, independent, modern institutions, that have helped democracy survive in India for over 70 years”.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, former vice-president Hamid Ansari, Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad, and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi paid tributes to Pandit Nehru at his memorial Shantivan in New Delhi.

The Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Rajnath Singh, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee poured tributes via tweets.
