Monsoon showers reached Mumbai this morning. Some parts of the city received moderate to heavy rain. The rains have resulted in waterlogging in several areas leading to traffic jams at major junctions.
Rain were recorded in parts of Juhu, Mulund and Vile Parle. Neighbouring areas of Thane, Vasai and Virar also witnessed morning spell.
The humidity level in Mumbai was around 88 percent. However, the temperature showed not much dip, the readings were swaying between 25 to 31 degrees celsius.
Heavy rains exposed the civic bodies shabby maintenance work. Many people were stranded Dharavi and Western Express Highway. However, local train and flight operations, continue to run smoothly.
Autorickshaws, Cab services such as Ola and Uber used the opportunity to surge fairs leaving commuters in lurch.
The met department have predicted rains for the next 24-36 hours.
