Mulayam Singh Yadav “prays” for Narendra Modi’s Return In 2019

The 16th Lok Sabha held its final session before the general elections around April-May this year. The highlight of today’s session was Mulayam Singh Yadav’s (MSY) speech.

In his address MSY said, he “prayed” for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s return to power. His partymen and the entire opposition took the comment in humor, but it raises eyebrows.

Mulayam Singh Yadav said, “I want to congratulate the PM that he tried to move ahead taking everyone along. I hope all members to win and return, and you (PM Modi) become prime minister again.”

Immediately when Mulayam made this comment the camera panned shots between Narendra Modi and Sonia Gandhi. Ms. Gandhi was astonished, while Mr. Modi folded his hands in thanks.

This is how Prime Minister Modi reacted to MSY, “There is much to do. And Mulayam Singh ji has given his blessings. I am very grateful to him.”

Coincidently at the same time Congress President Rahul Gandhi chose to do a press conference while Mr. Modi was giving his final speech in the 16th Lok Sabha. Mr. Gandhi said he “disagreed,” with Mulayam, however  “respects his opinion.”

Congress ally NCP’s Supriya Sule said Mulayam Singh had wished the same for outgoing PM Manmohan Singh in 2014, and advised not to take the comment seriously.

The jaw dropping comment definitely confirms that MSY and his son Akhilesh Yadav are not in tune.

Akhilesh earlier joined hands with rival Mayawati to put a strong fight against the BJP and Mr. Modi. The fathers praise for his sons rival might not go good for the family. Strangely the father hasn’t spoken a word since his son had announced an alliance with Mayawati.

It’s been two years since the father-son have’t been in good terms, Akhilesh staged a coup and took control of the party his father founded while MSYs younger brother opened a rebel outfit.
