Prince Harry and his American wife Meghan wed in secret three days before the official ceremony, Meghan revealed in an interview with Oprah Winfrey broadcast Sunday in the United States.
“Three days before our wedding, we got married,” she said, revealing that they swapped vows in private before Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welsby ahead of the televised spectacle on May 19 2018 at Britain’s Windsor Castle.
“No one knows that. But we called the archbishop, and we just said, ‘Look, this thing, this spectacle is for the world, but we want our union between us.'”
The revelation is one of many from the two-hour-long primetime special.
‘It’s A Girl’
In the bombshell interview, the couple revealed that they are having a baby girl due this summer.
Last month the couple had announced that they were expecting their second child together. They released a black-and-white image of them under a tree, all smiles, with Meghan, 39, showing signs of pregnancy.
The couple are parents to son, Archie, 21 months.
