A Sydney prison guard was sacked for posing as a police officer to get a discount on a Big Mac and 24 nuggets at McDonalds.
The guard, Lawrence O’Driscoll-Faitaua pleaded guilty at the Waverley Local Court.
Laurance flashed a badge that helped him gain access to prison cells in the Sydney police centre at the McDonalds drive through in Kingsford on the 29th December to get a police discount worth AUD$ 10.53.
The judge described the man “foolish” while sentencing saying that he risked his job for a discount. The court convicted Laurace for impersonating a police officer but let him free.
Corrective Service suspended Laurance for misconduct charges and had also warned the other 9000 prison staff.
