Man who made derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad and Muslims hacked to death

Assailants hack Kamlesh Tiwari to death in Lucknow on Friday. Tiwari was a founder of the Hindu Samaj Party two years ago. The incident took place in Lucknow’s Khurshid Bagh area.

The attackers entered Kamlesh Tiwari’s office/residence on some pretext and were offered tea. They allegedly slit his throat and shot him multiple times after having tea.

Police suspect Tiwari knew the attackers and they had some form of personal enmity.

During the police search, they recovered a country made pistol and cartridges from the scene of crime.

The Lucknow police have formed teams to investigate the matter and examine the CCTV footage around.

In 2015, Tiwari allegedly made derogatory remarks against the Prophet Muhammad creating a huge controversy. He called Prophet Mohammed homosexual and distributed pamphlets with derogatory remarks against Muslims. His comments triggered riots and communal clashes. Tiwari was arrested in connection with the case and charged under the National Security Act (NSA), which was recently revoked by the Allahabad High Court.

In news again in 2018, he declared to organise a karseva (volunteer service) for construction of Ram temple at the disputed site in Ayodhya while the Supreme Court was still hearing the matter.
