Multiple people were reported injured after a shooting incident inside a tram in the Dutch town of Utrecht.
Police are still to take the any suspects into custody following the shooting in 24 October Square on Monday morning. Three rescue helicopters were sent to the scene of the incident.
Police say the gunman is still at large, a man hunt was launched to find the attacker.
The crime scene was cordoned off and the investigations were underway. Authorities at the moment can’t rule out terrorism. The Prime Minister Mark Rutte was “very concerned” about the incident and cancelled his weekly coalition talks.
Schools in the city have been asked to keep their doors closed. Emergency responders and ambulances are at the scene, the shooting was reported at 10:45 am local time.
Utrecht’s transport authority said tram services in the city have all been cancelled.
