An east Tennessee man is accused of striking his wife with a loaf of bread during a domestic dispute, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies were called to a domestic dispute on February 5 at about 11:00pm, reports said.
Deputy Dakota Rinehart began following Grande after he saw the man back down a long driveway in an SUV and run off the gravel, and then cross the centerline of the highway as he drove.
According to the deputy, Grande admitted he had been drinking, and when the man failed sobriety tests he was arrested.
Grande’s wife, Erica Grande, told Monroe County Sheriff’s Sgt. Tillman Steele that she had gotten into an argument with her husband.
Erica Grande said when the couple got home, her husband hit her in the face with a loaf of bread. As she was trying to leave, the woman said Thomas Grande then hit her with a board.
