Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar was taken to Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital early Monday morning, after complaining of breathing difficulty.
She was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit as she is suffering from a viral chest infection. Her sister Asha Bhonsle visited her in hospital later during the day.
Usha Mangeshkar, her sister said: “Lata didi is still in hospital. She is under observation. She is doing absolutely well and is stable. She will be discharged by tomorrow. We thought it”s better to treat her at a hospital because of the viral infection so she is there for today.”
Lata Mangeshkar, is a playback singer and music director. She has recorded songs in over a thousand Hindi films and has sung songs in over thirty-six regional Indian languages and foreign languages. She is a recipient of the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Awards.
She is the eldest among her four siblings – Meena Khadikar, Asha Bhosle, Usha Mangeshkar, and Hridaynath Mangeshkar.
All India Radio Services reported, the singer was discharged after spending 20 odd hours at the hospital.
