KL Rahul Anchors Kings XI Punjab To A 6 Wicket Win Over Chennai Super Kings

Kings XI Punjab ended their 2019 IPL quest on a positive note after KL Rahul got a blistering 71 from 36 balls. KXIP defeated CSK by 6 wickets and 12 balls to spare in Mohali on Sunday. KXIP finish IPL 2019 at 6th spot.

Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings are through to the playoffs, they would either play Delhi Capitals or Mumbai Indians on Tuesday in Chennai depending upon the result of the final league game match number 56, between MI and KKR.

Gayle and Rahul added 108 runs for the first wicket in 10.3 overs to seal the match. Gayle got a run each ball, while Rahul did the hard hitting. CSK veteran bowler Harbhajan Singh got three wickets but, he was smashed for 57 in his four over quota. Harbhajan claimed the wickets of Rahul, Gayle and Mayank Agarwal.

Once Gayle and Rahul were gone, Pooran played a cameo getting 36 from 22 balls to take the home team to a win.

Earlier while batting first, the Super Kings’ Faf Du Plessis got 96 runs off 55 balls, missing a century by four runs. He put a 120 run stand along with Suresh Raina. Raina got a fifty, 53 of 38 balls. Sam Curran and Mohammed Shami  dominated the bowling for KXIP, they picked up 3/35 and 2/17 respectively.

Du Plessis’ knock had a brilliant mixture of 10 fours and four sixes.
