The Karnataka Congress lawmakers were packed and stuffed into the Eagleton resort in Bangalore this evening. The Congress collected its MLAs on suspicion of the BJP’s plans to topple the JDS-Congress government.
The same thing repeated close to seven months back after the hung assembly results.
The Congress party held a headcount at the legislature party meeting, three rebel MLAs never turned up. After the meeting the MLAs were packed, bundled and sent to the famous Eagleton Golf Resort on the outskirts of Bangalore.
Senior leaders in the Congress party DK Shivakumar and Siddaramaiah accused the BJP’s BS Yeddyurappa of horse trading. They also allege that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP national president Amit Shah were completely behind the plan.
The Congress party said they would send out notices to the missing lawmakers Umesh Jadhav, Ramesh Jarkiholi and Mahesh Kumathalli and then take appropriate action.
The BJP MLAs from of the state assembly were also locked up at a resort near New Delhi.
The JDS-Congress alliance have 118 lawmakers in the 224-member Karnataka assembly where the majority mark is 113.
