In 2014, both the IPL season and general elections dates clashed. The ministry of Home affairs couldn’t provide adequate security to both the events simultaneously, so the IPL was partially moved to UAE.

This year the IPL starts earlier than usual due to the ICC ODI World Cup, this is scheduled from 30th May 2019.
