IPL 2019: Rajasthan Royals beat Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets

Rajasthan Royals defeated Mumbai Indians by 4 wickets, and three balls to spare in the IPL 2019 match 27 on Saturday.

Jos Buttler was the star of the show with his bat for the Royals, as the opener smashed 89 runs off 43 balls. Soon after Buttler’s dismissal, RR lost a few wickets in quick succession and the match sprang back to life in the last three overs.

However, Rohit Sharma got Hardik Pandya in the 20th over despite Jason Behrendorff and Joseph having one over each up their sleeves. Shreyas Gopal finally hit the winning runs with three balls to spare.




When put to bat first, Mumbai Indians Quinton De Kock scored 81 runs to hosts post 187/5, but Buttler’s 43-ball knock studded with eight fours and seven sixes got RR their second victory of the IPL 2019 season.

Young West Indies pacer Alzarri Joseph was hammered, going for 0/53 in 3 overs.

Buttler first partnered with captain Ajinkya Rahane, they together added 60 runs, they laid the the foundation and then Buttler added 87 runs for the second wicket with Sanju Samson.



When Buttler was sent back in the 14th over, Rajasthan needed just 41 runs. But Mumbai sent back four batsman in a row, however, Shreyas Gopal held his nerves to take the side home in a tense situation. Gopal hit the winning boundary off Hardik Pandya as celebrations erupted in the Rajasthan camp.

Skipper Rohit Sharma made a comeback after missing out the last Mumbai game due to a leg injury scored 47 off 32 balls. Hardik Pandya hit 28 from 11 balls to push Mumbai near the 190 runs mark.
