IPL 2019: Captain Cool Saves The Day For Super Kings Against Royals

Skipper MS Dhoni saved the day for Chennai Super Kings after grabbing 75 runs of 46 balls. Dhoni’s half century in challenging conditions got CSK to win their third match for the season. Rajasthan Royals lost the match by eight runs in Chennai on Sunday.

The visitors did not have anyone like Dhoni to fire the innings, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer tried their best to get to close to the target with their 44 run partnership, however the last over when Royals needed 12 runs to claim victory was bowled by the King’s Bravo, who bowled Superbly.

Dhoni kept the scoreboard ticking, and whenever he got the chance, he opened his arms and hit four fours and as many sixes. Dhoni and Suresh Raina added 61 runs for the fourth wicket, pushing the ball around. Later, he raised a 56 run stand with West Indies’ Dwayne Bravo.

Earlier, the Kings struggled during  powerplay overs. Throughout the innings, Royals maintained pressure with their bowling. However, Royals pacer Jaydev Unadkat conceded 28 runs in the final over with Dhoni finding three sixes, and Ravindra Jadeja lofting one.

The Royals struggled in Powerplay overs and lost three top batsmen. Steve Smith contributed 28,  Ben Stokes accumulated 46 off 26 balls.
