Intermittent rains expected on Reserve day clash between India and New Zealand

The match against India and New Zealand would continue on Wednesday, the reserve day after rains suspended play on Tuesday. The Kiwis will resume their innings at 211/5 in 46.1 overs.

However, accoring to weather forecaster AccuWeather intermittent rain is expected on Wednesday as well.

The weather in Manchester will remain cloudy from 1pm to 4pm IST. And at 5pm IST rains are expected to hit Old Trafford but this should ease between 6 to 8 pm. But further deteriorating between 9pm to 11pm IST.

On Tuesday, the rains hit around 6:30pm IST which pretty much continued till 10pm IST. The match officials were also about to inspect the ground at 10:40pm, but just before inspection the rains returned. Therefore, the decided to continue the match on the reserve day.

If rains interrupt on the reserve day as well, then Duckworth-Lewis method could come into picture. India should minimum get 20 overs for the batting innings in order to D/L method to decide the result. If not, India would move to the finals directly as they are placed above New Zealand in the league stages.
