An Instagram user, Gabbie Hanna who has 3.8 million followers on the social media platform tricked her followers about a trip of her lifetime.
The singer, and social media influencer decided to play a prank on the people that followed her last week by pretending to go to a music festival, the Coachella music festival.
The 28 year old shared a series of pictures for over three days, making it look obvious that she was having the time of her life. She posted pictures of her gearing up to watch Ariana Grande and Kacey Musgraves perform live.
She was at home and managed to fake the whole thing up with a little help from her friends. Some of her pals photoshopped her images flawlessly, making the instagram star pull the prank without any glitches.
She filmed the behind the scenes of the prank for her youtube video revealing why she planned her fake trip.
In the clip she talked about how some of her friends were going to Coachella and how they would spend weeks preparing for the festival, spending thousands on clothes, hair, make-up and accommodation.
They then spent most of the festival trying to get the perfect photo for Instagram.
She said that some of her friends would even take double the amount of outfits with them and change during the day to make it look like they had attended both weekends of the festival.
Her prank was aimed to show the world that, what you saw on social media wasn’t always real.
“If you’re having trouble attaining these things or you can’t afford to go to these big fancy festivals or you can’t afford those nice clothes or your body doesn’t snap into shape the way they do on these Instagram accounts, just know that it is ok..”
She added that she felt bad for tricking her followers and apologized to anyone who was offended.
