The Indian Navy enhanced military deployment in the Arabian Sea after the Pulwama terror attacks and the tensions between India and Pakistan.
INS Vikramaditya, nuclear submarines and scores of other ships, submarines and aircrafts were operationalised in the seas.
The Chief of Navy staff Admiral Sunil Lamba would be in Kochi on the 18th of March to audit the operational preparedness after the Theatre Level Readiness and Operational Exercise (TROPEX) and also discuss the road map for future operations.
The exercise which began on the 7th of January 2019 and was planned to be conclude by 10th March 2019. However after the JeM terror attacks in Pulwama on the 14th of February rapid re-deployment operations commenced.
Close to 60 ships of the Indian Navy, 12 ships of the Indian Coast Guard and 60 aircraft were part of Theatre Level Readiness and Operational Exercise.
The superiority of the Indian Navy forced Pakistan to not venture into the open sea, Pakistan was forced to stay put at Makran coast.
