A MiG 27 UPG aircraft on its routine mission from Jodhpur crashed in Sirohi, 200 kilometers away from the international border with Pakistan on Sunday. The accident took place at noon, around 11.45 am.

The MiG 27 UPG aircraft, which took off from Uttarlai Air Force base, experienced engine issues, this lead to a crash at about 120 km South of Jodhpur.

Crashes in the Indian Air Force are becoming very common nowadays, in February last month an IAF helicopter crashed in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday. The crash killed both its pilots and four others onboard, and also a local resident. Much of the accidents occurring in IAF are due to its aging fleet.
