India Lose 4th ODI against Australia, Series Now Levelled 2-2

Australia won the 4th One Day International (ODI) against India in Mohali today. With today’s win Australia have levelled the 5 match series 2-2.

India won the toss and chose to bat first. Openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma took India to a total of 182 for no loss after 30 overs. Rohit Sharma was the first to departs for 95 runs, Shikhar Dhawan roared with a career-best of 143. The pair created the highest opening stand for India against Australia in one-day cricket.

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul failed to fire in the middle-order. Rishabh Pant (36) and Vijay Shankar (26) played important cameos to help India cross 350. India finished at 358 for 9 off 50 overs.




Chasing a humongous total of 359, Australia got off to a horror start when Aaron Finch and Shaun Marsh were removed by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah with the Aussies reeling at 12 for 2. However the combination of Peter Handscomb, Usman Khawaja and Ashton Turner got Australia to a total of 359.

Usman Khawaja and Peter Handscomb added a total of 192, Khawaja was dismissed for 91 by Kuldeep Yadav. Yuzvendra Chahal dismissed Handscomb for 117, and Australia fell to a 271 for 5 in the 42nd over. However with the entry of Ashton Turner he lit up the stadiums helping Australia win with 2.1 overs to spare.

India and Australia will now fight for the trophy in the decider at Delhi on Wednesday.
