The Italian Government imposed a complete lockdown, with some 60 million Italians told to stay at home in a bid to stop the spread of coronavirus.

The emergency coronavirus measures include travel restrictions and a ban on public gatherings, to the entire country.

The death toll from coronavirus in Italy has risen to 827 and at the same time 12,462 cases were confirmed.

Italy is the worst hit coronavirus nation after China.
