Herd of elephants help collapsed baby elephant

In a viral clip tourists in jeeps look over an elephant calf collapsing in the middle of the road and how the baby’s herd arrives to protect him.

The baby elephant starts to gain his consciousness again but he is not strong enough to get up. The viral clip shows another elephant trying to wake the calf by giving him a little nudge with his feet.

As the baby tries to get up again, other elephants support him using their feet and trunks and they don’t leave his side till the time he is up and able to walk off the road.

This is the kind of love and respect animals have for each other, which humans can learn a lot from.

IFS officer, Parveen Kaswan recently shared a clip on Twitter with caption, “An elephant calf collapsed on road. But then elephants don’t leave their members behind. We saw a similar thing recently in my area where a calf died of natural cause but family kept her with them for four days. That is the kind of family bonds they have. Video from Africa.”

The footage was taken in South Africa’s Kruger National Park.
