Google services SUFFER major global outage

Gmail, YouTube, Google Classroom and other Google services from Alphabet Inc suffered a major outage globally on Monday.

Downdetector, which tracks internet service outages, showed a range of Google business and consumer products experiencing problems starting about 11:30 GMT.

Google’s own page that tracks the performance of its services posted an update saying “We’re aware of a problem with Gmail affecting a majority of users.”

The status page did not describe the nature of the problem.

Google faced a similar disruption of service in August this year.

Back in November, YouTube went down in a worldwide outage. The video platform rectified the issue in a span of nearly two hours and users were informed via a tweet that the services were fixed across all devices and YouTube services. YouTube didn’t share a reason why the outage took place.
