G20 summit, what to expect?

The 13th G20 summit in Buenos Aires, Argentina would see heavyweights clash. Xi Jinping, Justin Trudeau and Vladimir Putin, Donald Trump and Mohammed bin Salman.

The member countries represent the worlds 80% population, this years agenda is future of work, infrastructure for development and a sustainable food future.

However the core agenda is likely to be ordered shadowed by Russia – Ukrainian clash, Jamal Khashoggi and US-China Trade deal.

The star of course is Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman. Turkey and US agency CIA directly blamed MBS for the killing of Journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

US and China are likely to discuss the ongoing tariff war.

Earlier US President Trump and Russian President Putin cancelled off talks after shooting incident between Russia – Ukraine navy vessels.

Uncomfortable moments are expected when Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman come face to face.

Also when President Donald Trump makes eye contact with UK PM Theresa May, after Trump criticised May’s Brexit deal.

What’s it for India?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be a part of several meetings with member countries. For India and the US there will be focus on terror emanating from Pakistan. US would want specifics from India on the US$ 400 million arms deal between India and Russia.

India and China would focus on strengthening bilateral relations.

India will be looking for greater cooperation with other nations on economic offenders who have been residing on foreign soil.
