Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley Admitted to AIIMS over Breathing Difficulties

Veteran BJP leader and former finance minister Arun Jaitley on Friday was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi after he complained of breathing issues.

As per sources from the hospital, Jaitley was taken to hospital this morning after he complained of chest congestion, palpitations and restlessness.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister and BJP President Amit Shah and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla visited the hospital to inquire about his health.

Jaitley was the most important man in the cabinet after Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s in his first term in office.

66-year-old Arun Jaitley had undergone a surgery in the United States in January earlier this year. He once again visited the U.S. last month for an unnamed medical procedure.

In May last year, Jaitley had undergone a renal transplant and in September 2014 he was forced to undergo a weight loss surgery to correct the weight he gained due to a long-standing diabetic condition.
